Retreats & Pilgrimages
Walk the Camino. Rediscover Your Soul.
A 7-day pilgrimage on the Portuguese route of the Camino de Santiago.
October 24 – 30, 2026
Portuguese Camino · Vigo to Santiago de Compostela · 12 participants
Investment from $3,847 · Payment plans available
This retreat is designed so your transformation actually comes home with you.
Personal guidance before, during, and after the journey — because the most important work often begins the moment you return.
The honest value case
There is no standard category for what this is.
Which is exactly why the value is so unusual. Consider it from either direction.
Compared to adventure travel
A premium guided Camino walk
A well-curated 7-day guided Camino — guesthouses, luggage transfers, an experienced companion on the trail — is already a premium travel experience. That is the baseline here. What you get in addition to that is something adventure travel almost never includes: a complete inner retreat, and five private sessions with your guide.
As adventure travel goes, this is already exceptional value. As a combined offering, it is genuinely without parallel.
Compared to a spiritual retreat
Five private sessions built in
Most retreats give you a teacher in front of a room along with group activities and exercises — and this one does too. But it also goes well beyond that, and gives you five private sessions: a foundations session before you leave, a one-on-one walking session on the Camino itself, and three integration sessions once you are home. A single session with Jonah is $250. Five, booked separately, run $1,250. They are built into this retreat because the work that actually changes your life happens in the integration, not only in the peak moments.
This level of individual access from a teacher is almost unheard of in a group retreat format.
"Walking pilgrimage. Spiritual retreat. Ongoing personal guidance. All three, together — at a price that honestly reflects what is here."
Is this for you?
There comes a moment — subtle, unmistakable — when something inside whispers: it's time.
Time for clarity. Time for renewal. Time to be walked back into yourself.
This retreat is for you if:
- ✦You feel called toward something deeper than the life you've been living
- ✦You're in a life transition and want to meet it consciously
- ✦You're longing for stillness, ease, or inner spaciousness
- ✦You want to walk the Camino not just as a tourist, but as a soul traveler
- ✦You want guidance that is grounded, clear, and deeply present
- ✦You crave a meaningful reset — one that actually lasts
If any part of you says yes — even as a whisper — you're in the right place.
A note on what this is
This is not like any retreat I’ve seen offered.
There is real physical movement. There is a schedule of sorts — a curriculum, exercises, and practices — all in service of your own direct experience. It is a literal and metaphoric walk: an unfolding through the accumulation of steps, the stripping away of ordinary momentum, and the quiet that emerges when you give yourself permission to simply move through the world without agenda. And it is a community — like-minded souls, all walking in the same direction.
Jonah’s role is not to teach from above. It is to walk alongside you — to help increase the light in your own mind simply by being present together. To be with you as something you already carry becomes clearer.
This is not a challenge to conquer. It is a pilgrimage — in the oldest, truest sense. And one with ongoing support to help you integrate what opens, and continue to live from it when you return home.
Why this retreat is different
Most retreats give you a beautiful experience —
then send you home alone.
This one doesn't.
This Camino retreat is designed as a complete arc of transformation — from the moment you say yes, to long after you return home. You are supported before, during, and after the journey.
A Private Foundations Session
Before we set foot on the Camino, we meet one-on-one for 60 minutes to explore where you truly are in your inner journey, what feels unresolved or ready to shift, and how this retreat can meet you — personally and authentically. This sets the tone for real change. Not generic change — the change that is most meaningful to you.
A Personal Walking Session
At a quiet point along the Camino, each participant is offered a dedicated one-on-one walking session with Jonah. There is something about walking side-by-side on the path — conversation and presence with a seasoned spiritual guide, the natural silence of the land — that lets truth arise gently and naturally. This is often where breakthroughs happen.
Three Integration Sessions
This is, honestly, where the real-world change happens. Three private sessions, spaced over several weeks, support you in weaving the Camino's clarity into daily life — stabilizing what shifted, applying insights to real relationships and choices, and staying connected to the deeper truth you found. This is the difference between a beautiful memory and a genuine turning point.
“Am still in a bit of the glow from our session. I know what was uncovered is TRUTH. I've hit the ground running with life, but I have this hidden gem — a knowing — that I am courting and paying homage to in my heart and soul.”
— B.B.

A personal note from Jonah
In 2023, I walked the Camino. I didn't walk to "find myself." I walked because I knew I needed to step out of the momentum of my life and reconnect to the truth that's always here. Each day stripped away what was unnecessary. Each night returned something essential. Hour after hour, step after step, I returned to a deeper relationship with silence — and with the part of me that remains untouched by fear, pressure, or story.
This wasn't new to me. I've spent a lifetime hiking and backpacking across the lower 48 states, Canada, Nepal, Africa, and Alaska. Over the past fourteen years, I've guided more than 400 people — in groups and one-on-one sessions — into their own sacred silence, soulful awakening, and the gentle application of spiritual truth to the realities of daily life.
This journey on the Camino brings these elements together in a small group for a completely unique retreat experience — a fusion of physical journey and inner inquiry that quietly dissolves the boundary between the two. The path beneath your feet becomes a proxy for the spiritual journey, which becomes a proxy for the human journey, until the seemingly different layers of your experience begin to reveal themselves as One.
Your retreat begins before you hit the trail. Some of the most important work happens once you return home. That's why I walk with you before, during, and after the Camino — so what you discover doesn't fade, but becomes lived.
I'd be honored to walk with you.
— Jonah
What people say
What participants say about working with Jonah — from private sessions and group gatherings.
“You've really helped me so, so much. Not only has my resistance fallen away but some things have hit me like a sledgehammer — I am that stillness!! That's it! It doesn't get any more glorious than that. I'm meeting myself!! How crazy and wonderful and absolutely mind-blowing.”
— Sandra K. – Edmonds, WA
“My heart doesn't feel congested any more. It's been replaced by a lovely feeling of love and joy, and my connection to the still small voice within has been restored.”
— Stella H. – Wales
“When Jonah touched my head there was a sense of expansion. Instead of a 'little self' with a small center and a border around it... the border exploded and the little center expanded, filling in everything, all around. There was a sense of everything rather than the usual, small sense of self. The expansion was followed by the most vivid quietude.”
— Igor S., Ithaca, NY
“When you put your hand on my head, it felt like the neurons were being re-wired. The following week was extraordinary — I had transformative conversations with my son, with colleagues, and with my mother, who was dying, though I didn't know that yet. I have been overwhelmingly grateful for these conversations ever since.”
— Mary R., Lansing, NY
“I would best describe my experiences with Jonah as encountering the extraordinary in the most ordinary, kindest and gentlest of ways. Since meeting with him, I have experienced a great release — letting go of fear and guilt that imprisoned me for many, many years. My spirit has been experiencing true joy ever since.”
— Julie B.C., Toronto
“Since my session with you, I have only had good days. It feels like the rough edges of life have been removed and smoothed over. Every day is joyful. I feel more loving than ever before in my life. These changes are different because they are with me every single day.”
— Beverly T., California
Common questions
- Do I need to be in great shape?
- Basic fitness is enough. Daily distances are gentle — roughly 8 to 15 miles at a relaxed pace. Most people with a regular walking habit are well prepared. The free prep guide includes a simple fitness preparation outline, whether you have 1 month or six — or anywhere in between — to prepare.
- Do I carry a heavy pack?
- No. Your luggage is transferred between guesthouses each day. You carry only a light daypack — water, snacks, a layer, and what matters to you.
- Is this a religious retreat?
- No. The Camino has deep religious roots, but this retreat is spiritual in the broadest sense — grounded, open, and genuinely accessible to people of any background or belief, including none.
- What airport do I fly into?
- Porto, Portugal is the nearest major airport. From there it is a short transfer north to Vigo, Spain, where the walk begins.
- How many people will be in the group?
- 12 maximum. This is intentional — small enough for genuine connection, and for Jonah to be meaningfully present with each person.
- I've done retreats before and nothing really changed. Why would this be different?
- That's probably the most honest question on this page, and it deserves a direct answer. Most retreats end when you leave. This one doesn't. The before/during/after structure — a private foundations session, a one-on-one walking session on the trail, and three integration sessions once you're home — is specifically designed to address the gap between "I had a profound experience" and "my life actually changed." If previous retreats faded, it's likely because the real work of integration was left to you alone. This time, it won't be.
- I'm not sure I'm spiritually advanced enough for something like this.
- There is no prerequisite. The Camino is walked by people at every stage of life and inner journey — first-time seekers, long-time practitioners, people in crisis, and people simply following a quiet pull they can't explain. What matters is not where you are, but that something in you is ready to move. If you're reading this page, that's probably already true.
- What if I have a difficult experience on the retreat?
- Difficulty is not a sign that something has gone wrong — on the Camino or in inner work. The walk has a way of surfacing what's ready to be seen, and sometimes that includes grief, old pain, or unexpected emotion. Jonah has guided people through profound and difficult inner experiences for over 14 years. You will not be alone with whatever arises. That is the whole point of having a guide.
- Why are there integration sessions after the retreat?
- Because the most important work often happens once you return home. The Camino can open something real — but the world you return to is the same world that was there before. The integration sessions are where you learn to carry what you discovered into your actual life, relationships, and choices. This is the difference between a beautiful memory and a genuine turning point.
